Elizabeth Arden's Pure Finish Lets You Do the Twist

Here's something from the why-didn't-they-think-of-this-before files: Elizabeth Arden's Pure Finish Mineral Powder Foundation ($37.50). It's a mineral makeup foundation with a twist — literally. Housed in a sturdy compact, the foundation is released with a gentle twist, revealing a few shavings of fresh powder. Since you can produce as much or as little as you want, it's a nice way to transport mineral makeup without having to worry about powder spilling all over the place.

An extra perk: It has built-in SPF, which is one reason that makeup artist Jenna Menard used Pure Finish on Uma Thurman while the actress was at the Sundance Film Festival. I've been using this powder on days when I don't want to spend a ton of time futzing with liquid foundation, or I just need to cover a few imperfections. It covers redness and blemishes but doesn't look heavy. (some may, however, still need a separate concealer for their Uncle Fester under-eye circles.)
